Microsoft started his journey to FINOPS as a Premium Founder Member in February 2023. Many IT professionals figured out if this culture and methodologies to leverage cost efficiency would bring value on Azure.

After some months the question has a clear response from Redmond. Microsoft is undertaken to support its customers to achieve more with less investment and leverage money to cloud innovation.

They know a wrong governance, a cloud full of small islands disconnected, with no Landing Zone and with no costs understanding means an upset customer in long-term, with open ears to other private or public cloud.

First Takeaway: Finops Review

Finops Review assess your organization’s capability gaps. It´s a wizard with a comprehensive guide to identify areas to improve within a specific Azure subscription.

You starts linking an azure subscription, you may think it´s a right candidate to your company scenario.

Then choose the whole subscription or even better, choose a resource groups that make sense to evaluate..

You have to clarify your cloud maturity..

Then, we can focus on some domains or a global vision about FINOPS.

Let´s say cloud optimisation from a technical perspective. Now all the questions come about how to reduce cost on technical aspect.
